In this episode, we’re talking about NFTs and how college and professional athletes are using them to monetize their name, image and likeness.
Our guest is Nick Jacobs, Head of Product at Blockchain Made Easy, LLC. Nick has been building digital products for Fortune 500 companies for the last 6 years. He started his career at TD Bank where he led the building of the bank's first online lending platform for small businesses. Since leaving TD Bank, Nick and BEASY have focused on providing easier to use platforms and tools for content creators, brands, and artists eager to get involved in the NFT space. Nick led the development of an interoperable blockchain product that allows customers to create custom NFT marketplaces at a fraction of the cost. Why Athletes Have Trouble Retiring
Sunday Mar 20, 2022
Sunday Mar 20, 2022
In this episode, we’re talking about advice for professional and retired athletes, including some reasons why maybe Tom Brady didn’t retire.
Today’s guest is Dr. Simon Le Clerc. Dr. Simon Le Clerc MStJ (Lieutenant-Colonel Ret’d) comes to AO with a wealth of experience. As a 24-year UK Army Veteran and highly specialist Pre-hospital Trauma Doctor, he has spent much of his time serving on the front-line, leading and working with elite teams operating in expeditionary and special operations environments.
Simon is a visionary who is completely people-focused, recognizing the incredible human potential that lies within high-performers from all walks of life.
As a result, he tends to concentrate on the person behind the career, rather than just the technical aspects of performance.
Dr. Le Clerc's passion for supporting professional and elite athletes stemmed from his own journey. When severe combat-related Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder forced him to leave the military prematurely, he experienced the huge challenges (and dark despair), often associated with career-transition first-hand.
In this episode:
Why maybe Tom Brady didn’t retire; Simon shares his thoughts on professional athletes who try to retire
What Player Support Services does to help professional athletes
How Simon's experience as a trauma doctor helps him relate to professional athletes
Simon’s thoughts on PTSD and how he found his way out of a tough time in his life
